Bionector e-Learning Demonstration, duration 02:29(min/sec).
A safety device system, for example a needle-free system, is the preferred method for accessing injection and access caps/ports." RCN Standards for Infusion Therapy, January 2010. This programme has been designed to demonstrate the clinical use of Bionector -- Vygon's closed, needle-free IV access system. It explains how the unique features and benefits of Bionector can support vascular access device management in terms of best clinical practice. It finishes with a quiz and then certificate upon successful completion. This programme is aimed at/suitable for all healthcare professionals who undertake the care and management of intravenous therapy in the clinical arena.
Medicine Calculations e-Learning Demonstration, duration 01:50(min/sec).
Good calculation skills are essential for safe medicine administration. This RCN accredited interactive programme has two levels. Level 1 covers oral and enteral medicines -- the base line mandatory level for medicines administration. Level 2 covers additional skills required for parenteral administration - this should only be undertaken if level 1 is completed successfully and would be required before users are deemed competent to administer intravenous medicines. The programme is designed to be as interactive as possible, and requires the candidate to input data as they work through calculation examples. It gives instant printable feedback to enable greater understanding and can be used at a later date as revision. This programme is aimed at/suitable for all healthcare professionals who administer prescribed medications to patients in clinical practice.
Cannulation e-Learning Demonstration, duration 02:25(min/sec).
IV therapy is a hugely important aspect of clinical practice, yet it finds itself up against constant pressures. This RCN accredited interactive programme has eight learning modules enabling participants to gain a thorough understanding of cannulation from theory to practical site management. It has been designed to support and work alongside classroom teaching and ward-based skill assessment to reduce the need for lengthy study day teaching sessions. The modules include; legal and professional issues; anatomy and physiology; site selection and vein assessment; equipment choice; principles and practice of cannulation; complications of cannulation; post-insertion care; infection control and a competency framework certificate.
