Boussignac CPAP from Vygon is a simple and effective open system providing respiratory assistance for patients breathing spontaneously. CPAP stands for Continuous Positive Airway Pressure and supports breathing throughout the respiratory cycle by maintaining a positive pressure within the lungs. It is compatible with all face masks, endotracheal tubes and tracheostomy tubes. The CPAP device features two ports; a green port with an integral oxygen connecting tube, and a translucent colourless port to be used for controlling pressure or adding oxygen.
Our Boussignac CPAP range is sold and supported by Solus Medical. For all sales and training enquiries please contact Solus Medical on:

The Boussignac valve takes gas from a single source and splits it to create four high flow jets. These jets, travelling at the speed of sound, converge in the chamber creating turbulence. It is the turbulence that creates a virtual valve, providing resistance for the patient to breathe against. Increased gas flow causes increased turbulence and so creates a higher pressure.
Unlike most CPAP devices, this system requires no valves or moving parts making it very safe, simple and economic.
