Vygon (UK) Ltd raises £2,318 by taking part in Race for Life!
Fifteen employees from Vygon (UK) Ltd took part in this year’s Race for Life, raising £2,318 for the charity Cancer Research UK. Vygon has recently relocated from Cirencester to Swindon and the participation in the local event on the 20th July 2011 in Lydiard Park, Swindon, marks the occasion perfectly.
The team of female employees from Vygon all wore customised t-shirts and successfully completed the race in a respectable time of between 30 and 45 minutes.
Vygon has been supplying medical and surgical products to healthcare professionals since 1973, during this time Vygon has built a reputation for delivering high quality products and excellence in customer service. Product ranges extend across many therapeutic specialties, including vascular access, regional anaesthesia, IV management, neonatology and enteral feeding.
Dawn Chivers, Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs Manager, Vygon (UK) Ltd organised the event within Vygon and comments: “After discovering, in October 2010, a new lifestyle of healthy eating and exercise, it seemed a great idea to put my new found fitness to a good use by entering the Swindon 5k Race for Life. I was pleased to find that a few of my Vygon colleagues were prepared to also give it a go, so the Vygonite Race for Life Team was born.
The Race for Life and the training leading up to it was great fun and we all felt a great sense of achievement as we crossed the finish line (although I seemed to have lost a tutu along the way!) and raised over £1,000 between us. Vygon’s great offer to match the amount raised, taking our donation to over £2,000, is the icing on the cake”.
